My little craft project

So as many of you may know I am not the craftiest person in the world - I would love to be & you'd think that since my mom is totally crafty that I would have inherited some of her talent, but no.  So a couple weeks ago it was my turn to plan the project for our Activity Day with the girls in my class & I wanted to do something cute for Mother's Day.  I saw this little craft on line & thought it was adorable so here is my attempt at being crafty.  I guess this craft has been around a while, but this is the first I had seen of it.  It was called a Sundae Bath....you fill a cup with bath salts then stuff a loofah in it to look like whipped cream, add a bath bead on top, stick a straw in it & then you have a "sundae".  There's a little poem that goes with it that was really cute- the girls seemed to like it & I hope their moms enjoyed it. 

Mother's Day

My Mother's Day was great this year.  On Saturday Sione & the kids surprised me with flowers & the cutest bouquet of balloons - which have lasted forever by the way. It was really cute to see them give me gifts now that they're getting old enough to kind of understand.   On Sunday we spent some time over at the Fa's and then we headed over to Kalli's house for desserts.  It was a really fun day spent with family & all the mothers in my life.  Being a mother is a lot more than I had ever expected, but a lot more fun that I thought it would be too. (most days)  :) 

I am so grateful for the best mother in the ENTIRE world & a wonderful mother-in-law, sisters, & sister-in-laws.  Hope you all had a fun, relaxing Mother's Day!

Gettin' Caught Up

Ok....Here you go Mom! :) Apparently I have been slacking on my blogging duties (according to my mom).  

To get you all caught up I figured I'd start with our anniversary.  Last month we celebrated our 7th year of marriage.  Sione had to speak at an event on our anniversary so we didn't really celebrate.  We went shopping together so we kind of picked out our own gifts - isn't that romantic? :)  Oh well, it's just being together that counts, right!?  I can't believe that it's already been 7 years - it seriously does seem like it's only been like 6 1/2!!! Hahaha!!!  Time has really flown by so we must be having lots of fun!  I remember when I first met Sione about 10 years ago & I just kind of knew that one day we'd be married & I feel so blessed to be his wife.  Love you Sione!!

So Sione thinks he gets a little gipped on his birthdays since it's 2 days after our anniversary- I tell him you got the best B-Day present ever----ME! :)  We had a nice day together for his birthday- we went to a movie & got something to eat....again, not the most exciting, but we love to spend time together when we can.  Happy 31st Sione!!!

The Happiest Place on Earth!

***Sorry for the rambling, boring post.....feel free to skip my commentary and go to the slideshow. :)

We decided to take a spontaneous family road trip to Disneyland a couple weeks ago.  This of course made Maizi the happiest girl on earth.  She's been asking us daily if we can to go Disneyland & we just kept telling her "yeah, someday"  Well, that someday came & she was THRILLED!!  I usually like to plan ahead for stuff like this, but I just decided that now was as good a time as any & with Sione's schedule lately it looked like it was the best time to go for the next couple months.  I'm so glad we went & that the weather was so nice.  It was a quick trip, but just enough time to get it all in.  We got a really good deal on tickets & surprisingly got a really good deal on a hotel right next to Disneyland from Priceline.  I was mostly nervous about the 5 1/2 hour drive with our two little monsters we call our kids. :)  They actually did really good....we left in the evening so they slept a lot of the way, but of course when we got to the hotel they were wired!  We got up the next morning, got ready & headed over to the park.  It was so fun to see how excited the kids were- I was really excited too. We haven't been to Disneyland since our first year of marriage.  

Our first stop was It's a Small World- still the same old ride, but still cute (and a little annoying).  The kids liked it so that was fun.  Then on to the main event.....The Princesses!!!  Oh my Gosh!!! We waited in line for an hour & a half to see them.  Yes- we are crazy! I'm pretty sure that's the only time I'm going to get Maizi to stand by me for that long---ever! We got to see Tiana (Princess & the Frog), Ariel, and Cinderella.  These are all favorites of Maizi's, but then again, I think she just loves them all.  I was afraid that she wouldn't talk to them when we finally had our turn, but she did ok.  If you see in the pictures she does this thing with putting her fingers in her mouth when she get nervous or something- and naturally when we left she wanted to do it again.  Ummm...I don't think so. :)  We did all the other kid rides- Dumbo was a big hit. Maizi was laughing hysterically and Soakai was loving every minute of it. Soakai also thought the Tea Cups were a blast.  We also walked over to California Adventure- we've never been there so it was cool to see what it was all about. We did a very quick tour of it so it would be nice to go back and actually do some of the rides there.  It seems like it's more for adults though so maybe that's a trip without the kids. After a few hours the kids were getting tired so we headed back for naps.  We got all rested up & went back to squeeze in some more rides before the Fireworks show.  I've never seen the Fireworks before & it was amazing....very crowded, but totally worth staying for.  We can't wait to go back! Lots & lots of fun!!
